MY HEALTH JOURNEY
For most of my 20s, I struggled with a myriad of chronic health problems and mystery conditions that no doctor or specialist could help me heal from.
From debilitating insomnia, chronic gastrointestinal issues, joint pain, memory problems, brain fog, post-concussion syndrome to amenorrhea, eating disorders, weight gain, anxiety, depression and complete burn out!
It all started when I went to law school at the ago of 18. In the pursuit of a successful law career and a perfect body, the mounting pressure built up over many years, the perfectionism and the unhealthy habits eventually lead me to breaking point.
At 19 I developed anorexia nervosa and was severely underweight, with that I suffered from almost episodic anxiety and depression. I also noticed that I began struggling with memory problems, hair loss and amenorrhea. A few years later, I had to quit the job as a lawyer that I worked so hard to get because of severe debilitating insomnia. For many years, I survived on less than 2 hours of sleep per night. As a result, I also began suffering from chronic gastrointestinal symptoms, adrenal exhaustion, circadian rhythm imbalances, gallbladder attack, leaky gut, joint pain, a head injury, night eating syndrome, social anxiety and was later diagnosed with autoimmune disease.
Despite seeing countless doctors, specialists and therapists, my lab tests were always ‘normal’ and I was prescribed pharmaceuticals to mask the symptoms I was experiencing, none of which actually addressed the root cause of my body’s imbalances and chronic symptoms, and some of which extenuated my mental health problems.
After taking a break from my law job, I devoted my time to doing my own research and finding my own solutions. This eventually lead me to natural and functional medicine and ‘whole-body’ based approach, that focused on seeing the body as an interconnected when rather than individual systems.
Along my own healing journey, I decided to become a certified holistic health coach as I wanted to help others with chronic conditions, who felt as lost in their conventional doctor’s office as I did, and who didn’t want to rely on medications to mask their symptoms.
Just one month after changing my diet, stopping my excessive exercise and implementing more balanced lifestyle habits my brain fog lifted, and my concentration levels went through the roof, my body stopped aching and my digestion was better than ever. Since making those changes I never again experienced another depressive episodes, although I had suffered from depressive episodes nearly my whole life. I also helped myself overcome Night Eating Syndrome, Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia and Anorexia.
I have more energy, mental clarity and motivation and am more in tune with my body’s needs. I love, rather than loathe my body, treating it with respect and care. As a bonus, my spiritual connection and love for God and my family relationships have improved greatly too.

I know what it’s like to feel that nobody understands your struggle, having myself spent much time in doctors’ offices. I can empathize with the devastation and hopelessness involved in coping with chronic conditions that don’t neatly fit into any category, are misdiagnosed or difficult to treat through conventional means.
As someone who has been through so many health challenges, I want to encourage you not to suffer in silence, but rather, to seek the help you need.
